Why No COLA? Updated for 2022

The Social Security Administration announces the new rate annually in October. Once the new COLA is confirmed, it will go into effect January 2022. Therefore, retirees who are already receiving social security benefits, the Social Security COLA will increase 5.9% in 2022.
