Your Financial Security and Good Health are our Top Priorities

The Kansas City Public School Retirement System (KCPSRS) is taking proactive steps to ensure the continuation of critical benefit services to our members while also protecting the health of members and our staff.

Monthly Benefit Payments

Direct Deposit: Payments will continue as usual.

Paper Checks: If you are still receiving a paper check, we strongly encourage you to sign up for direct deposit immediately. With direct deposit, you receive your benefit payment sooner and it is deposited to your account without you having to leave home. If the current situation worsens, it is possible that future paper checks could be delayed. Submit a direct deposit form or contact KCPSRS for assistance today.

Appointments or Office Visits

At this time, we are following Center of Disease Control (CDC) and local health recommendations by cancelling in-person appointments and all business visits to our office. We are defaulting to scheduling individual phone consultations and correspondence via email. We offer the following options:

As of this update, KCPSRS staff are reporting to work as usual and have been instructed to exercise good judgement and stay home if they or a family member becomes ill. We have a business continuity plan in place. We are reviewing and testing our processes for performing critical business functions remotely or by alternate methods.

These precautions, which we are taking to safeguard the health of our members and staff, may result in longer than normal wait times on the phone or slightly delayed responses by email. We ask for your patience and understanding as we strive to provide the best possible service to all our members.

We will keep you informed of any additional changes as this rapidly developing situation evolves.
